Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is the tomb where the remains of the first President of Vietnam are kept. In addition to that, Ho Chi Minh was a Vietnamese revolutionary leader and politician. Nowadays, he is considered the father of modern Vietnam and a national hero.

The mausoleum is a significant historical and cultural landmark in Vietnam. It is visited by thousands of tourists and locals every year. Its construction started in 1973, and it was finished after two years.

It’s located in Ba Dinh Square. The primary access to the square is through the right side of the court (here). You can visit the interior of the Mausoleum in the mornings, and the entrance fee is 25.000 VND. Expect long queues as it’s a popular place for tourists and locals.

Bear in mind that on Monday it’s closed. Also, you should consider your clothing, as shorts and T-shirts are not allowed in the Mausoleum. Photography or video equipment is also forbidden.

Ho Chi Minh's body is preserved using advanced embalming techniques, and the mausoleum is strictly maintained to protect the body in a state similar to the one at his death. The body is usually taken to Russia for annual maintenance from October until November.

There is a diary flag raising and lowering ceremony that takes place at sunrise and sunset. A military guard acts while doing precise and synchronized movements, often accompanied by patriotic music. You can also witness the guard shift that takes place every hour.
