Banana beach in Zakynthos

How to get there

It is located in the southeast of Zakynthos, about 25 minutes by car from Zakynthos town. The roads are quite good, so driving should not be a problem.

You can access the beach by two different paths and park at either of the two free parking areas: Banana Bay parking (here) or Casa Playa parking (here).

The beach has fine golden sand. It is quite commercial, with several companies offering services such as sunbeds, umbrellas, Balinese beds, or swings (ranging from €40 to €10). If you sit without asking, when you leave, they will ask you for money.

You will also find a wide range of water activities such as jet skis, banana boats, wakeboarding, parasailing, paddleboarding, etc. The truth is, the beach is well-prepared for tourism. You will even find courts for playing beach volleyball.

It is usually frequented by young people. This and the noise from the water activities make it not a very quiet place. Even so, it is fine if you want to spend some time lying on a fine sand beach. Keep in mind that during the high season it will be quite crowded.

At the beach there are two bars where you can have a snack or a drink (tourist prices). These bars usually feature DJ performances. The shaded terraces are especially nice.
