Cameo Island is located off the southern coast of Zakynthos. It is a small private island that, due to its picturesque appearance, has become one of the most photographed spots in Zakynthos.
How to get there
It is a 10-minute walk from Laganas and a 20-minute drive from Zakynthos town. The roads are quite good, so you shouldn't have any problems.
You can park next to the wooden bridge for free (here). To access Cameo Island, you will have to cross the bridge.
Cameo Island
The entrance to the island is not free; there is a fee of 5€, which includes a small souvenir. There you will find a small pebble beach with a bar where you can relax or swim in the turquoise water, and you might see a loggerhead turtle around (just like at Laganas Beach).
On the island, you will also find a viewpoint and restrooms. The entrance fee includes the use of chairs and umbrellas on the beach.
It is recommended to go early in the morning, as many hotels have excursions that stop here. The beach is quite small, so it fills up quickly. Additionally, it has become a popular place for weddings and other events, so sometimes, access might be restricted after 1:00 PM.
It is a very picturesque place.
