Cubo de la Galga hike
Cubo de la Galga can be explored via a self-guided 5 km trail. This trail takes you through the most scenic part of the area. It’s a linear path, 5 km round trip, and will take about two hours.
During the hike, you’ll walk through a dense laurisilva forest, where in many sections, sunlight barely filters through the thick vegetation. Among the plants you’ll see are laurel, lime trees, barbusano, heather, and fayal. You’ll feel like you’re in a jungle. In fact, it’s a very humid areawith a microclimate that makes rain quite frequent. The hike is fairly easy, so it’s common for families to bring young children along for a walk.
In addition to this trail, there are longer routes (9 km, 3-4 hours) that take you to viewpoints or villages. We recommend visiting the Cubo de La Galga Information Point, where they’ll tell you more about the different routes available and inform you of any full or partial trail closures due to landslides or adverse weather conditions.
