The Puntagorda Farmer’s Market is a popular covered local market located in the municipality of Puntagorda. It offers a wide variety of fresh, local, and artisanal products, along with a warm and authentic atmosphere, reflecting the rural life of the area.
How to get there
It’s located in the northwest of the island, about 1 hour from Los Llanos and 1 hour and 30 minutes from Santa Cruz de La Palma by car. The LP-1 and LP-114 roads are in good condition, so getting there should be no trouble. There are several parking areas nearby where you can leave your car.
Puntagorda Farmer’s Market
It takes place on Saturdays (15:00 - 19:00) and Sundays (11:00 - 15:00), though it’s a good idea to check the official website as the hours may change. Admission is free.
This is a place where local farmers and artisans can sell their products directly, promoting the local economy and sustainability. It’s also a social gathering point, where both residents and tourists can enjoy Canarian hospitality.
At the market, you’ll find local products at great prices, including fruits, vegetables, mojos, and sweets. There are also a couple of stands with prepared food, a stall with craft beers and wine, and another stand with coffee, ice cream, and smoothies. You’ll also find some craft stalls.
In addition to all this, there’s a terrace and tables with chairs set up both inside and outside the market. We recommend trying some of the prepared dishes or a drink. Outside the market, there’s a pine forest with a recreational area with benches.
Nearby
Next to the market is the Izcagua viewpoint, where you can enjoy beautiful views of the ravine. There’s also a zip line (nothing extraordinary. Price: €25, €18 for residents).
It's a great place to get local products and souvenirs.
