    Hue is popular for its incredible imperial city, but in addition, several mausoleums storing the remains of various emperors also stand out.

    If you want to see the main attractions of Hue in a somewhat relaxed manner, we advise you to spend two full days.

    THE ANCIENT IMPERIAL CITY

    It's the hallmark of Hue. The imperial city of Hue encloses the citadel of what used to be the capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen dynasty. It was built in 1803, and although many buildings were destroyed during the war, you can still see palaces, shrines, small lakes, gardens and ancient buildings.

    The individual entrance fee for the citadel is 250.000 VND. However, there are interesting bundles that encompass some other monuments.

    Depending on your pace and the itinerary you choose, you could spend from 1 hour to a half day.

    MINH MANG EMPEROR'S MAUSOLEUM

    Minh Mang was a Nguyen Dynasty ruler from 1829 to 1840. The construction of the tomb was started in that year, and in 1841, Minh Mang died.

    The individual entrance fee for this tomb is 150.000 VND. However, it's often included in a bundle with the Imperial Citadel.

    KHAI DINH EMPEROR'S MAUSOLEUM

    The Khai Dinh Mausoleum is the tomb of the twelfth Emperor of the Nguyen dynasty of Vietnam. Khai Dinh reigned from 1916 to 1925 and the tomb was built between 1920 and 1931, finishing the works 6 years after the death of the emperor.

    The individual entrance fee for this tomb is 150.000 VND, and like the Minh Mang's mausoleum, it's usually included in a bundle with the Imperial Citadel.

    THIÊN MU TEMPLE

    It is a historic and quite iconic temple in Hue. Its gardens and the seven-story pagoda stand out, which is considered an unofficial symbol of the city. The location is here.

    ABANDONED WATER PARK

    One of the most distinctive places in Hue is the abandoned water park. It was first opened in 2004. However, it quickly fell into disrepair and degradation, making it a completely unprofitable investment. In 2011, it finally closed and turned into an intriguing and free attraction for the most curious tourists

    TRADITIONAL SHOW ON A BOAT

    One of the typical activities in Hue is taking a boat ride on the Perfume River (Perfume river) while enjoying a folk music performance. The cost of this activity is around 100,000 VND, and it lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour. If you'd like to make a reservation, you can do so through the Klook app.

    MOTORBIKE TRIP TO DA NANG

    The road that connects Hue and Da Nang is known for the incredible views it offers of the cliffs, the sea, and the mountains. Many people embark on this adventure and then leave their motorbike in Da Nang, where they either stay or continue their journey to Hoi An.
