The Love Waterfall is a popular attraction located 14 km southwest of SaPa town, very close to the Silver Waterfall. It is a cascading waterfall, with several steps descending from a height of approximately 15 meters. It is surrounded by lush vegetation and green mountains, creating astonishing scenery.

The easiest way to reach it is by scooter. You can easily rent one in SaPa by asking your accommodation provider (price ~120,000 VND). Once you arrive at the parking lot at the entrance of the Fansipan National Park (here), you will need to leave your vehicle there and pay an entrance fee of 70,000 VND to access the trail leading to the waterfall.

It will take approximately 15 minutes to walk the 1.5km trail down to the waterfall. The path winds through the jungle and is well-defined and marked. In certain sections, you will encounter stairs to ascend and descend, as well as stepping stones to cross the river. Nevertheless, the hike is relatively easy. Just be careful as the soil can be slippery.

The waterfall falls from a height of 15 meters through a wall of green moss-covered rocks. At the bottom, the waterfall forms a pond where you can swim. The rocks in the pond are orange, which enhances the overall beauty of the scenery. At the foot of the waterfall, you can find a crafted rock with the shape of a heart, where you can stand to take pictures.

Bear in mind that this is a mountainous area and fog is prevalent almost every day. Each region within the area also has its distinct climate, which can vary significantly, as seen between Fansipan and SaPa, for instance. From December to March, the dry season prevails, resulting in reduced fog occurrence in Fansipan, while SaPa town may experience foggy conditions. Residents often recommend visiting SaPa town between May and September, as during this period there is typically reduced foggy weather.

The name "Love Waterfall" comes from a local legend, which narrates the tale of a fairy who fell in love with a local man. Their love was forbidden, so they couldn’t be together. The fairy cried so much that a waterfall was created with her tears.
