La Tosca viewpoint is situated in the municipality of Barlovento, known for having the highest concentration of dragon trees in the Canary Islands.
How to get there
It’s located in the north of the island, on the LP-1 road, about 45 minutes by car from Santa Cruz de La Palma. The road is in good condition, so you shouldn’t have any trouble getting there. You can park right at the viewpoint, although space is limited.
La Tosca viewpoint
From the viewpoint, aside from a few dragon trees in the distance and the typical hamlets of these rural areas, you can see the cliffs along the western coast and several villages in the Barlovento municipality, such as Topaciegas, La Palmita, or Gallegos. These villages are small and remote, where locals live a very tranquil life, maintaining ancient customs.
Nearby
Very close to the viewpoint there is a laurisilva forest, where you can explore the tunnels and the Mirador de Las Mimbreras or the Mirador de Los Poleos. These are completely different places, covered by dense vegetation.
You can see several groups of dragon trees close together, but don’t expect a full forest of them.
