Slide and Jump at Uvita Waterfall - Puntarenas

Uvita waterfall is located in Uvita (surprise), in Puntarenas region on the pacific coast of the country. It’s 5 km from Uvita beach, so you can reach it by foot from the village. There are two different ways to access it and the road is not too bad in any case so you can make it even with a Fiat Punto.

You can reach it through a private farm paying 2000 CRCs. After a walk of 5 minutes you will be at the waterfall. You can leave the car in the farm itself.

The other way is free. You will have to walk upstream of the river from location.It will take about 15 minutes and the way is mostly walking in the water so watch out for the slippery rocks.

The waterfall is at the end of the path. It’s 7 meters high and on the left side there is a ladder you can use to go up the waterfall and slide down like in a water slide, with a 2 meters-fall at the end of it. 

There is a natural sky blue pool located downstream of the waterfall. A 4 meters-high platform was built to jump in the pond.

In addition to this, you can visit a butterfly garden, where you can spot morphos, owl or tiger butterflies among others.

In the same location you can enjoy a slide on a waterfall, jump into a pool and visit a butterfly garden. It's worth it!
