    It's located in Bajos del Toro, Costa Rica. It's a spectacular waterfall that stands out for its incredible blue and green colors, being one of the most beautiful in Costa Rica.

    In order to access the waterfall, you have to go along a private farm (surprise!). You have to pay 15$/person and a guide is included. There is no way to get a reduced price witout the guide, actually, the guide in this case is very useful due to the path is tricky, for example, you will have to cross the river 10 times.

    The contact that we are sharing is a friend of the farm's owner. He manages the access to the waterfall. There are other companies that organize tours but they are more expensive. You have to book in advance. There is not a problem of availability, but if you don't let them know beforehand, nobody will be there.

    The meeting point with the guide and the beginning of the hiking is here. It's along the road 708 of Bajos del Toro, you will find a sign showing "Vuelta del Cañón". There is no need of a 4x4 car, however, some sections of the road are full of potholes. Despite this, if you drive carefully, you can make it even with a Fiat Punto you can make it.

    It's a mountainous area, it's always either cloudy, rainy or foggy. The water of the river is cold, really.

    During the hiking there is not height difference, but the trail will certainly be muddy and slipery (shoes sink completely). Even during the dry season, weather is proned to be like that. It's not a difficult hiking if you sometimes do sport.

    It’s not crowded at all. You will barely see people during the hike.

    Exotic animals are hardly ever seen around the area.

    This waterfall is spectacular, one of the best treasures of Costa Rica. It's not touristic at all. The main drawback is the weather.

        Hi Dane, how are you?

        The guide is mandatory and very recommendable, as sometimes the path is not clear and you will have to cross the river several times, which might be dangerous depending on the water level.
