Punta Uva beach is located between Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo, on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. It’s a white sand and crystal water beach that mixes the jungle and the sea,in other words, an idyllic place.

You can reach the beach by car and park on the side of the dirt road. Although it’s not a paved road, you can make it with a Fiat Punto .

The trees along the beach will provide you with some shade. You will likely spot sloths, monkeys or a wide range of bird species. In addition to this, you will find some crooked palm trees which leave a cossy and picturesque landscape. (here).

In front of the beach there is a reef that protects it from the waves. It’s a good snorkeling spot as long as it’s not a stormy/windy day. Watch out for the currents.

It’s a very quiet beach, not busy at all.

If you are prone to be bitten by mosquitoes, I strongly recommend you to take an insect repellent.

The cave is located next to Punta Uva’s viewpoint. You will have to go up to the viewpoint and before reaching it, shift to the left and then to the right. Be careful, it’s a bit steep. You can help yourself with the ropes along the path. It's here. Btw, there are sea urchins there.
